The Laboratory

As a Laboratory of Theatre Creations, Teater Garasi is an institution in attempt to create fresh and genuine theatre idioms, based on research and study of existing theatre/performing art traditions, fuse/juxtapose it with contemporary models/sensibilities/imageries.

Actor Studio

The actor studio is an acting learning program for actors. Our curriculum allows participants of the program to gain comprehensible and integrated knowledge on theatre and acting through a series of workshops, theoretical classes, and an intensive training system accompanied by competent facilitators and teachers.

Workshops

In the workshop actors meet and learn a particular theatre/performing art form/method/skill/technique from a competent source.

Theoretical Classes

In the theoretical class actors develop their intellectual competence through sessions of discussions and assessments on a particular subject/theory to improve their theoretical perspectives and critical awareness upon their broader environment.

Action Research

In the action research actors observe and examine a particular subject through a period of active involvement in a live-in experience (This activity is optional).

Training

In the training actors develop their body, voice and imagination sensibility through a routine step by step training system in the studio.

Performance Works

After dwelling through studio process, theatre works are obliged to be performed toward the public as part of the work's socialization and dialectics. It is at this point Teater Garasi's work is gaining its main significance: communication with the public/audience.

In the creation of contemporary theatre, Teater Garasi never affiliate itself with a particular theatre style, in order to open more possibilities of creations.
