A Music collaboration performance of Risky Summerbee & The Honeythief and Slamet Gundono

In every fusion of entities with different background always has any possibilities for new-surprising things emerge. A band with folk/ Progressive Rock, Blues, Psychedelic in fact could make a bridge to a javanese-coastal traditions based performing art community (Tegal - Central Java) with its rough and specific tone. Based on “Gandari” text- Kurawa’s mother in Mahabharata epic, they build a dialog in their own musical character. Slamet Gundono who knows much more about this text provide Risky all the things-to-know while responding with any bluntly -critical interpretation (sometimes without compunction) in electrical music. During this creative process, they adopt various methods; from playing instruments together up to mixing their versions. A blend that would deliver a great and erratic composition.

In solo , “Memoirs of Gandari” had been performed at Pendopo Wisma Seni Taman Budaya Surakarta in Januari 26, 2008 at 7.30 pm, On Bukan Musik Biasa’s event (for free). Its full piece also had been performed at Taman Budaya Yogyakarta in Febuary 1st, 2008. The musicians are Doni Kurniawan, Dwi Priyo, Erwin Subiyantoro, Kukuh, Nadya Hatta, Risky Summerbee, Sevri Hadi, Sri Waluyo, Slamet Gundono, Sutrisno. This event supported by Kelola Foundation, Teater Garasi, The Netherlands Embassy, Taman Budaya Surakarta, Bukan Musik Biasa, and Wisma Seni Community.
