For this residency program, Teater Garasi act as a host for Dutch female theatre director, Corrina Manara, sponsored by Theater Embassy, ICCO/Togetthere, Art and Cultural Program Netherlands Embassy. During her six-month residency, November 2007 up to May 2008, Corrina Manara will run some activities such as :

* Workshop of Improvisation
There will be two kinds of improvisation applied ;
1. Jeque Lecoq method with “clown” character as a model. Focusing on body improvisation.
2. Realism practical (‘Seagull’ by Anton Chekov). Focusing on speech improvisation.

The main aim of this workshop was to introduce those two mentioned above to enriched the participants’ knowledge. It was a five-day workshop, Januari 28 – February 1, 2008 at Banjarmili Dance Studio, followed by 16 actors (most are campus based theater groups).

* Directing “Camar” (Seagull) Performance
Started on things that came out during the workshop, Corrina Manara continuing her works onto theater creation with most players are them who involved in the previous workshop. The chosen script was “Seagull” by Anton Chekov. This piece will be held on April 29 -30, 2008 at Banjarmili Dance Studio, Yogyakarta and May 6 -7, 2008 at Erasmus Huis, Jakarta.
